An Air Mediterranee jet left the right side of the runway after landing at Lyon Airport in France on Friday.
Air Mediterranee, an Airbus A321 with 181 passengers and 7 crew, reportedly landed in wet weather conditions. All passengers and crewmembers were safely evacuated and the runway was closed for 2.5 hours while the plane was removed.
20minutes.fr reports [translated]:
“Nobody was injured. It was just very stressed. We had no information of the crew or driver for 30 minutes. I had to call the airport to see what was happening. Firefighters helped us out one by one because the field was waterlogged. A bus took us to the terminal but our luggage is still in the air, “he says. According to him, the aircraft “looked old, the Greek crew barely spoke French and very little English.” It seems “unlikely” that a technical inspection took place during the stopover in Agadir, despite a first landing felt agitated by the passengers.
Damage to the aircraft is reported as minor.
