Arkia ATR Plane Makes Emergency Landing at Ben Gurion, Engine Fire
An Arkia Israel Airlines plane made an emergency landing on Sunday at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv after an engine fire warning alerted the pilots.
‘The ATR-type aircraft, carrying 67 passengers and crew, was heading from Eilat to Sde Dov airfield near Tel Aviv when a light came on in the cockpit alerting the two pilots to a problem with one of the plane’s propeller engines.
The crew alerted passengers to the situation and asked them to assume emergency positions as the plane diverted to Israel’s largest international airport, where rescue response teams were on hand to receive them.’
The plane landed safely with no injuries reported.
