Hawaiian Airlines is answering growing demand and giving San Francisco Bay Area travelers more options, more flexibility and more of a reason to visit the Hawaiian Islands with an expanded schedule and new direct flights into two other islands.

Beginning January 5, 2014, Hawaiian Airlines will offer daily service between Oakland and Honolulu, increasing its flights from four times a week, boosting total air seats to O‘ahu by 75 percent. Daily service between Oakland and Kahului, Maui will continue as scheduled. In addition, Hawaiian Airlines will start new annual summer service between Oakland and Līhu‘e, Kaua‘i three times a week, and Oakland and Kona, Hawai‘i Island four times a week starting in 2014 from June 14 to August 15, adding a total of 18,200 seats to both island travel markets over 10 weeks of service.

“We want to give travelers in the greater Bay Area even more reason to start dreaming about getting away to our beautiful islands and all there is to enjoy,” said Peter Ingram, Hawaiian Airlines executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “We are also pleased to support Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Island’s visitor industries during peak summer season starting next year and also offer our island residents convenient, direct service to the Bay Area.”

The new expanded schedule and service allows Bay Area travelers the option of a dual-destination vacation with a free stopover in O‘ahu before continuing on to Hawaiian Airlines’ South Pacific gateways, such as Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland. South Pacific travelers can also connect in Honolulu to enjoy a few nights in the islands before heading to the San Francisco Bay Area through Oakland, the convenient, centrally located gateway to everything the Bay Area has to offer, such as Napa Valley’s finest restaurants and wineries.

Daily O‘ahu and Maui Schedule
Daily service between Oakland and Honolulu will commence on January 5, 2014. Additional flights on the route may also be available in early December 2013 based on aircraft availability. Maui’s daily service between Oakland and Kahului will continue with slightly adjusted times below beginning in January.
