Saudi 767 Gear Up
A Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 767-300 with 315 people on board had to make an emergency landing early Sunday morning injuring 29, 11 were taken to the hospital, three in serious condition.
The flight, SV-2841, was enroute from Mashhad in Iran to Medina, Saudi Arabia when the crew was alerted to a problem with the right main landing gear and aborted the first landing attempt. Witness accounts say the plan made a total of two previous landing attempts before finally landing.
The Saudi Arabian Airline has confirmed the incident, and said the pilot reported a mechanical problem and a problem with one of the rear wheels. Boeing has been notified and is preparing to investigate and asset with repairs said the airlines.
Pictures from bystanders also showed damage to the wing of the airplane.
