SkyTeam has opened a new lounge at Istanbul-Atatürk international airport. Used by the ten member airlines serving Istanbul*, this lounge will welcome AIR FRANCE KLM Elite Plus customers travelling in La Première and Business. SkyTeam expects to welcome more than 70,000 visitors per year.

The new SkyTeam lounge in Istanbul embodies the spirit of the alliance “Caring more about you.” Covering an area of 350 sq. m. it can accommodate up to 90 passengers who can enjoy top-of-the-range amenities: a full business center with printer and free Wi-Fi, a relaxation area with an oxygen bar and massage chairs, a bar and buffet offering several types of cuisine, more than 70 electric sockets and a reading area.

In the same spirit as the SkyTeam lounge in Terminal 4 at London Heathrow airport, the Istanbul lounge, the second lounge of this kind, has a design with rounded shapes. The large windows installed on two of the four walls of the lounge diffuse natural light, and the third “natural wall”, made up of several varieties of plants, creates a vertical jungle, bringing a touch of nature. To preserve the peaceful atmosphere and enable customers to work or just relax, television screens have been placed in a separate room.

As part of its SkyPort program, the alliance plans to open two additional SkyTeam lounges in Sydney in late 2013 and in Beijing in 2014.

*The SkyTeam airlines serving Istanbul-Atatürk international airport are Aeroflot, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, KLM, Middle East Airlines (MEA), Tarom and Saudia.
