A Thomson Airways jet bound for Helsinki, Finland on Monday diverted to Samara, Russia when engine trouble forced the pilots to shut down one of its engines.

Thomson Flight 577, a Boeing 767-300 with 302 people aboard, landed safely in Samara.

No one was reported injured.

Engineers flew in from Manchester to repair the fault on the Boeing 767 and the aircraft departed the next day.
